Junior/Mid-Level Full Stack PHP Web Developer

- Posted in PHP Freelance Jobs by

We’re in need of an enthusiastic and talented web developer to join our team of friendly full stack developers.

About us:

We’re a small web development agency based in Stockwell, about a 10 minute walk from the Victoria Line tube station. We specialize in PHP website development covering frontend coding, backend coding and server management. Basically we turn designs into great websites. Our project work is very diverse; we’ve worked for ‘one man band’ start-ups, international brands and everything in between. Technology-wise we like to use Symfony for our bespoke work, Drupal or WordPress for CMS websites and Magento for e-commerce sites. As you can tell we’re big proponents of open source technologies. We also like to keep our skills up to date so we’re not averse to trying out the latest in vogue technologies if our projects justify them. We feel we’re a great company to work for!

About you:

You’ll have at least a year of commercial web development experience and should be confident enough to take on some responsibility in development projects. You’ll have good knowledge of both front-end and back-end development so you’re comfortable working on any facet of a website. You should be a pro-active self-starter who is happy to learn new skills as projects demand.

Skills & Requirements:

As a start you will have a good knowledge of:

Object Oriented PHP5, including experience with a PHP framework
HTML & CSS (with knowledge of responsive techniques)
jQuery JavaScript library including the use of AJAX techniques
Cross browser compatibility
Code repositories

In addition if you’ve worked with Sass, Vagrant, Gulp and Git then you’d be at a big advantage.

More important than any of the above is that you are intelligent, passionate about website development and are always looking to learn and improve your skills.

You must also have indefinite right to live and work in the UK and be able to work onsite at our office in Stockwell during our normal working hours of 9:00-5:30 Monday to Friday.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary is obviously heavily dependent on experience but we’re looking at up to £35k per year for the right person.

All our staff are entitled to 24 days of annual leave per year as well as Bank Holidays on top of this.

This is a great opportunity to work at a fun and dynamic company where it’s not a chore to come to work!
